Christian Penn is an emcee, DJ, producer, audio-engineer, muralist/street-artist, entrepreneur, non-profit director - or in other words a CREATOR. He has released multiple music projects with his groups The Higher Concept and 1WAYTKT and performed around the country opening for notable artists including Nas, Method Man, Talib Kweli, Kid Cudi, LMFAO, Keith Murray, Zulu Nation, and many more. In 2009, he started offering workshops and classes, based in the field of Audio Engineering and Music Production which eventually expanded to his other passions - DJing, graffiti, filmmaking and other media. In 2015, Christian founded Projectivity Group, an official 501c3 not-for-profit organization and has been the Executive Director since then. 

Projectivity Group is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization consisting of musicians, artists, educators, visionaries, and community members who have come together with the mission to provide education, resources, and opportunities to anyone interested in pursuing the arts.

El Bohio Murals - Save CHARAS Community Beautification                 2022

Worked with Thrive Collective to beautify a historic. community center in the L.E.S. / Loisaida

 

NYC Homecoming Live Art                                                 2021

Worked with Thrive Collective to curate and manage 16 notable old-school graffiti artists and new-school street artists at NYC Homecoming Hip-Hop events in all outer boroughs.  Each artist worked on an 8x12 ft canvas live during the event. 

Wu-Tang Tribute Monument                                               2021

Located in Stapleton, the home of Wu-Tang, worked with renowned artist Will Power of Ex-Vandals to create a 100 ft tribute wall with portraits of 10 members including song lyrics, name throwies, and more gritty-city styles.

Worked with SI Makerspace to develop an open call for artists to paint the storage units that are located in MakerPark.  Created outreach graphics, applications, and work agreements for artists.  Also contributed a mural to one of the storage units.

 

O.P.T.I.O.N.S. Vol. 1, 2, 3 Anti-violence music project  2016-2020

O.P.T.I.O.N.S (Overcoming Possible Tragedy In Ongoing Negative Situations) is an anti-violence music project funded by Staten Island Arts powered by Projectivity Group.  Over 20 artists have contributed powerful songs about their experience dealing with violence and tragedy.

Organized, produced, and executed 6 annual music and art festivals.

Musication is an annual fundraising festival featuring over 150 donating artists, performers, installations, activities, food, and more every year. 

 

Illuminate Stapleton                                                              2015

Creative Director

Organized, produced, and executed the district-wide marketing campaign from the NYC Neighborhood 360 grant which included Stapleton 10304 banners, public art installations, and a 2-day event in Tappen Park featuring over 15 local musicians and cultural performers, an artists market hosting over a dozen vendors, food, light installations, video projections and more.
